New business grant scheme
While this is good news for those local businesses we would ask that they do not contact us until we have more information and have had time to draw up a new payment process.
It is likely we will be able to identify qualifying businesses from previous Covid grants and will be in a position to contact those businesses direct, rather than receiving applications. We will use our communications channels to post further information when we have it.
Government has also announced that the Additional Restrictions (ARG) Grant will be topped up so local authorities can continue to use their discretion to support other businesses in their area, based on local economic need. Again, we will provide more information on this when we have it.
However, at present the District Council’s previous ARG funds have been fully allocated, so until the government provides new funds we have no grant-giving ability.
