What work is planned?
Ashbourne Reborn is a programme that is made up of two projects:
Highways and Public Spaces
The Highways and Public Realm project, led by the County Council, will transform a series of public spaces including Market Place, Victoria Square, Millennium Square and Shrovetide Walk while works to the road network through the town centre will help transform the pedestrian experience in Ashbourne.
Link Community Hub
The Link Community Hub project, led by Ashbourne Methodist Church, will transform the existing church buildings on the corner of Church Street and Station Road, creating space for a wide range of community uses and events.
Derbyshire Dales District Council will be responsible for the overall management of the programme. Residents, businesses and visitors can expect to see work starting on the ground from late summer 2024. Work is expected to finish by autumn 2025 and will be carefully managed to reduce disruption as much as possible.
