Why is it happening?
Ashbourne Reborn aims to bring back vibrancy, vitality and economic prosperity to the town centre.
Local partners worked together to develop the plans which aim to reverse decline in parts of Ashbourne, create vibrant public squares and yards, and give people reasons to visit within a safe and welcoming environment.
Changes to the highways and public spaces will celebrate the town’s heritage while enabling a wide variety of future events to bring new life to the centre of town. With the new Link Community Hub, Ashbourne will have a venue offering a fresh, modern range of accommodation options for groups and families and an outdoor riverside garden event space.
Ashbourne Reborn is led by Derbyshire Dales District Council working with Derbyshire County Council and Ashbourne Methodist Church as key delivery partners, in collaboration with Ashbourne Town Team, Ashbourne Town Council and AshCom who brought forward project ideas, identified opportunities and raised match-funding for the bid. Read the articles below to find out more about the public consultations that informed the proposals, partners involved in developing and delivering the programme, and what was included in the successful bid.
