As we approach the end of the summer holidays, various works will be taking place throughout our Matlock Hall Leys Park for the remainder of the year to deliver a number of improvements funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Initially, work will begin on Monday (2 September) to install a resin bonded surface to the main paths. Weather permitting, this should take around 10 weeks.
Additionally, installation work for the new skatepark which is currently being built off site will commence at the end of the month and will take around 8 weeks.
Finally work will commence at the start of November to install a new splash pad, inspired by the boating lake design which was selected in an online survey.
Although there will be some disruption to certain areas of the Park while these works take place, access to the main Park facilities will be maintained where possible. The majority of the works in the main areas of the Park should be completed ahead of the Victorian Christmas Market and the new splash pad will be up and running in time for next season.
