Get active this September in the Derbyshire Dales

Derbyshire Dales District Council's sports development team are running a variety of events during September.

The events kick off with a Community Walking Festival which takes place from 16th – 21st September and offers a fantastic opportunity to explore the beauty of the Dales. Choose from 13 guided walks across the week, catering to different abilities and interests. Explore historic villages, picturesque landscapes, and hidden gems alongside experienced walk leaders. Get active on Wednesday, September 18th as part of National Fitness Day with free tennis court hire for the day at the District Council’s Matlock Hall Leys Park. Book via ClubSpark.

Arc Leisure Centre in Matlock will be taking part in the day by hosting a variety of free activities including:

  • 9am – 11am Health MOTs (led by the Active Dales team) in the gym
  • 12-1pm circuits class in the sports hall
  • 2pm-2.45pm & 3pm – 3.45pm Pickleball taster sessions in the sports hall

Mark the 20th anniversary of Health Walks in the Derbyshire Dales on Wednesday, September 25th. Join the free event at Wirksworth Town Hall from 11.30am – 2pm. Enjoy a range of activities including taster health and wellbeing activities, information stalls, raffle - fundraising for Derby Mountain Rescue and refreshments. The event is funded by Public Health Localities funding.
