Residents

A row of terraced houses along St John Street Ashbourne

All the partners involved in Ashbourne Reborn recognise that it wouldn’t be possible to make these changes without some disruption. We will work closely throughout the project with local residents to work out how we can minimise the impact on your daily lives.

During the works, there may be temporary road closures or traffic lights. In this case, locations will be shared on the Ashbourne Reborn website and social media so you can find out what is going on and where. The County Council will develop detailed traffic management plans to ensure there are appropriate alternative routes during periods when roads need to close in the town centre, and any diversions will be clearly signposted.

Once work on the Market Place begins, it will no longer be a car park but we are clear that there is sufficient parking elsewhere in the town centre. Signage to alternative car parks will be improved, and you can find more information on our webpage about parking in Ashbourne.
