Virtual “have your say” February forums

Derbyshire Dales District Council's popular community forums restarted "virtually" in February.

Shelved during the pandemic to date, the forums returned as Zoom webinars. As with the physical sessions, the webinars focused on three geographical areas of the Dales - north, central and south.

All started at 7pm. The northern forum took place on Thursday 10 February, the central forum on Tuesday 15 February and the southern forum on Tuesday 22 February.

Topics presented by the District Council included the authority's proposed 2022/23 spending plans, climate change and an update on the council's plans to bid into round two of the Government's Levelling Up Fund for town centre redevelopment.

Council Leader Councillor Garry Purdy said:
"We fully intend to take our community forums back on the road as soon as we and attendees have confidence in the Covid safety of potential venues. In the meantime we hope our residents will welcome the reintroduction of forums on a virtual basis and we encourage people to sign up now."
