BINS - Friday update

Some Serco crews will be working tomorrow (Saturday) concentrating on any domestic waste collections missed during the past week, so residents should please leave out uncollected refuse containers.

Around a third of Serco's Derbyshire Dales 60-person workforce have been absent over the last fortnight, a statistic that includes Covid absences.

Food waste collections in particular have suffered, with crews being re-assigned to more important domestic waste rounds.

Serco are confident the staffing situation will ease this coming Monday and we expect them to issue a plan of action to catch up with domestic waste, garden waste and recycling collections that remain outstanding at the start of next week.

Unfortunately any missed food waste will not now be taken until residents' next scheduled weekly collection day.

We apologise for any disruptions and delays on behalf of Serco and the council.

Please continue to report missed collections online at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/missedbin
We are aware of a number of bin collections outstanding across the district, for which we apologise.
