With no extension made by central government to the law enabling local authorities to meet remotely, Derbyshire Dales District Council has to meet in physical socially distanced spaces for the foreseeable future.

Decisions included approval of an application to change a former band hall in Matlock's Jackson Road to a storage facility.

Councillors unanimously rejected the erection of two apartment blocks comprising 18 apartments on the site of the former RBS bank in Matlock's Snitterton Road.

The Committee rejected a proposal for a 64-bed car home in Ashbourne's Wyaston Road and also rejected an outline plan for nine homes on land west of Marston Lane, Doveridge.

The District Council's Development Manager was given authority to grant planning permission for 10 new homes in Ashbourne's Clifton Road subject to conditions and the applicant entering into a S106 planning obligation agreement.

This legal agreement will secure a financial contribution towards education facilities and tying the wider landholding which requires any further residential units (in addition to the 10 homes proposed) to comprise at least 30% of the overall total residential units to be 'affordable' or an off-site contribution if the land is developed.
