6 May local elections - rolling results service

The count for local elections here in the Derbyshire Dales took place on Friday 7 May at Wirksworth Leisure Centre. We published the results as they came in below. 

The average turnout figure for the Derbyshire County Council elections here in the Derbyshire Dales on Thursday 6 May was 45.9%.

The Bakewell division recorded the highest of the six seats in the Dales at 51.9%. Turnout in the Dales for the Police & Crime Commissioner election was 45.59%.

The count for Derbyshire County Council seats in the Derbyshire Dales started at 10am on 7 May and saw four Conservative holds, one Liberal Democrat hold and one Conservative gain from Labour.

The count followed for the two Derbyshire Dales District Council by-elections (in the Masson and Wirksworth wards), with one Conservative gain over Labour and one Labour hold. Three Neighbourhood Plan referendums in Ashbourne, Brailsford and Kirk Ireton all went the way of YES.

The counting of votes from Derbyshire Dales electors for the Derbyshire Police & Crime Commissioner election started at 4pm on 7 May. Conservative candidate Angelique Foster was elected as the new Police & Crime Commissioner, unseating Labour's Hardyal Dhindsa. The result is available on the Derby City Council website

The count for the Winster Parish Council by-election will happen at 10am on Monday 10 May at Matlock Town Hall.
