Derbyshire Dales District Council is inviting local people to comment on its draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).
The authority is required by law to prepare an SCI, which sets out how communities and stakeholders can be involved in the preparation, alteration and review of Local Plans and also in the determination of planning applications.
The SCI also gives guidance on how the District Council will assist neighbourhood planning groups and involve communities in the preliminary stages of plan making.
The current Statement of Community Involvement was brought into effect in January 2019. During the current unprecedented times associated with the COVID-19 pandemic temporary changes in respect of publicity on planning policy documents and planning applications have been announced by the Government.
Whilst elements of the existing Statement of Community Involvement continue to remain up to date, a review of the document has been undertaken and a draft Statement of Community Involvement prepared to reflect the statutory provisions and best practice.
An online survey is available for local representations until 11 January 2021 at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/SCI
