Every business eligible under the Government’s expanded retail discount scheme will now be sent a new bill giving 100% discount for 2020/21.
The 100% discount applies to a long list of businesses, including properties mainly used as shops, restaurants, cafés, pubs, cinemas, leisure, gyms, tourism, hotels and nurseries.
Other types of business are also included, and full details of the Government’s scheme can be found at www.gov.uk/government/publications/business-rates-retail-discount-guidance
Also today the District Council, in partnership with arvarto, is writing to all local small businesses, and retail, hospitality and leisure businesses, urging them to email their details to revenues@derbyshiredales.gov.uk.
It’s to enable these small businesses to be paid Government coronavirus support grants. Every eligible small business will receive a grant of £10,000.
Eligible retail, hospitality and leisure businesses will receive a grant of £10,000 or £25,000 depending on their property’s rateable value. Full details of the Government’s scheme is at www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-on-business-support-grant-funding
The District Council will start paying these grants on 1 April. But the council needs confirmation of businesses’ details, which is why firms are being asked to reply BY EMAIL to revenues@derbyshiredales.gov.uk as soon as possible.
