Gas restored to 900 homes in Wirksworth

Cadent Gas were due to carry out final visits to Wirksworth properties on Tuesday morning (15 October) having restored gas to every property in the town to which the company have been able to gain access.

A total of 900 homes lost their gas supply last Tuesday (8 October) when a burst water main flooded the local gas mains network.

On Tuesday Cadent were still trying to gain access to 45 properties to switch the gas back on. Well over half of these are vacant or holiday lets.
