Shop owners, occupiers and developers are being urged to have their say on new design guidelines drawn up for anyone planning to alter or replace a shop frontage in the Derbyshire Dales.
The District Council has refreshed its Shopfronts and Commercial Properties Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) to reflect the policies in the recently adopted Derbyshire Dales Local Plan.
SPDs expand on existing policy to provide extra detail and depth not possible in a Local Plan. Once adopted, it will be used to guide planning applications.
A six-week online survey on the draft SPD started on 18 January and can be completed on this webpage.
The draft guidelines, which cover the principles of design, materials, colours, advertisements, illuminations and security, can also be viewed at Matlock Town Hall, Arc Leisure Matlock, Ashbourne Leisure Centre, Wirksworth Leisure Centre and at the public libraries in Ashbourne, Matlock and Wirksworth.
