Crime prevention advice for Ashbourne villagers

There is another chance for residents in rural villages around the Ashbourne area to get hold of crime prevention advice and discounted security items next week.

It’s as the Operation Illuminate crime prevention roadshow is set to come to Clifton, Yeaveley, Sudbury, Doveridge, Norbury and Marston on Saturday, October 28.

Officers from the Marston and Clifton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team will be bringing the mobile police station to each of the villages to offer residents the chance to get hold of reduced price items such as ‘dusk till dawn’ light bulbs, shed alarms and door chimes.

Residents will also be able to meet Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Hardyal Dhindsa as he joins officers on the tour to give people the chance to speak to him about any concerns.

The items are being provided by the Safer Derbyshire Dales Community Safety Partnership, which includes Derbyshire Constabulary and Derbyshire Dales District Council.

They will be visiting:

  • Clifton: 10am-10.45am, at the village hall
  • Yeaveley: 11am-11.45 am, outside the pub
  • Sudbury: 12 noon-12.45pm, at the estate
  • Doveridge: 1pm-1.45pm, outside the shop
  • Norbury: 2pm-2.45
  • Marston: 3pm-3.45pm

Discounted home security products can also be picked up at local police stations and council offices, and further Operation Illuminates are being planned for the future.
