Bakewell residents invited to take part in Housing Needs Survey

View of Bakewell Town CentreResidents of Bakewell are being invited to take part in a local Housing Needs Survey being undertaken by Derbyshire Dales District Council.

For many local people, buying a home in the Peak District can be a real challenge and local shops and services, which help to keep our communities sustainable and vibrant, are put under pressure as the population changes.

Affordable housing that meets local needs is one of the District Council's top priorities in 2015 and the Bakewell Housing Needs Survey will provide accurate local information to support new housing developments in the parish.

Where there is a proven need for affordable housing, the local planning authority is able to approve developments in or on the edge of a village or town for local people such as the eight homes recently completed in Youlgrave.

Bakewell residents will receive a postcard giving them details of how to access the online survey.

Surveys should be completed by Friday 31 July 2015 and will be treated in the strictest confidence by the Rural Housing Enabler.

If you require assistance completing the form or have any queries, please contact Isabel Frenzel, Rural Housing Enabler, on 01629 761256 or email isabel.frenzel@derbyshiredales.gov.uk
