Candidates and Agents Briefings

A pre nomination briefing on the 2021 Elections for candidates and agents was held on Wednesday 17 March.  A copy of the slides used at the briefing are available here:

The following papers must be delivered by hand to the Town Hall in Matlock before 4pm on Thursday 8 April. 

1a Nomination Paper for County and District Elections
1a Nomination Paper for Parish Council Elections only
1b Home address form (part 1 and part 2)
1c Candidate's consent to nomination (including the pages of legislation)

Nomination Papers can be delivered to the Town Hall between 10am and 4pm on every working day between 29 March and 8 April. As the Town Hall will remain closed during the current lockdown we are still working remotely. Therefore you must make an appointment in advance so we can make sure someone will be there to check and receive your papers. (Note that this year 2 April and 5 April are Bank Holidays)

This year, due to the lockdown, we are offering all candidates and agents the opportunity to have their nomination papers checked by email. This means we can minimise the number of visits to the Council's officers and make sure your from is completed correctly before making a special journey. To take up this opportunity scan or take a photograph of your forms and email them to
