Health Promotion Days

Our health promotion days are often held at local doctors surgeries, libraries, leisure centres, community venues, etc. These days can give you an insight into how to live a healthier and more active lifestyle in your local area. We often provide free Health MOTs which use Tanita Body Composition Analysis scans. We also offer Health Walks and Activity Taster Sessions.

Rusty Rackets

We are back on court with our Rusty Rackets sessions in Matlock & Ashbourne and we have a new session in Bakewell too.  During these times the tennis courts are unavailable for use.

These sessions are perfect for anyone who is new to tennis or who wants to get back into tennis. We have a coach on hand to help you with the basics and to improve your game whilst also having a fun and social game of tennis. 

Included is racket hire but you can bring your own racket too. 

Where: Hall Leys Park, Matlock 
Tuesdays, 10.30 - 11.30 am

Pease be aware there are no sessions on 29th November and 6th December due to the Victorian Markets set up.

Ashbourne Activities

Stronger for Longer

Wednesdays, 10.15am -11.00am at the New Pavilion on Ashbourne Recreation Ground, £3
A gentle exercise class combining seated and standing exercises. This class will help to improve muscle strength and balance, to help reduce the risk of falls. Suitable for those who may lack mobility & confidence. After the class we have a hot drink (£1) and a chat at the Pavilion.

Online & Virtual 

During the pandemic we wanted to keep you all active and so have developed a wide variety of exercise videos that you can take part in at home. These videos are for all abilities and are on our Active Dales Facebook page or our new You Tube channel.

Our community fitness activities are for anyone who is new to exercise, or has not done regular exercise for a long time. Our qualified and approachable coaches and instructors create an informal atmosphere, making our well-structured fitness activities a great place for you to work towards increasing your health and fitness levels, with the emphasis on having fun and making new friends with people of similar fitness levels.  There's no need to book, just turn up on the day.
