If your application is successful, we will send you a letter inviting you to attend an interview on a particular date and time. References are sought following an offer of employment.
If you have not heard from us within 21 days of the closing date, then please assume that you have not been selected for an interview. In that event, we hope that you will still apply for future job opportunities with us.
Preparing for the interview
Being shortlisted for an interview means your application made a good impression. The next step is to fully prepare for the interview so you can do as well as possible on the day. For useful tips and further information please view Preparing For an Interview.
Attending the interview
Two or more managers who work in the same service area as the advertised job will carry out the interviews. During the interview the managers will ask:
- a standard set of questions relating to the requirements of the post
- individual questions about your responses on the job application form
Doing an exercise or making a presentation
Depending on the type of vacancy, some managers may set up certain exercises for candidates to carry out. These give the managers a greater insight into your abilities and skills. These might include a presentation or pc based exercises. If you are selected for an interview, you will be told in your letter if you should prepare for a presentation or other exercise.
Following the interview
If you are successful, a verbal offer of employment will be made subject to two satisfactory written references. Once we have received a written reply from both your referees, we will send you a written offer of employment. Candidates who are not successful will be notified by letter, although they are welcome to call us if they would like feedback.
