The Government has recognised that local councils are in a unique position to support the delivery of energy efficiency and to help to tackle fuel poverty.
Councils are now required to publish a document setting out how they aim to support the Government's own targets. This document is called a Home Energy Conservation Act (or HECA) report. First reports were submitted in March 2013 and further reports will be completed every 2 years.
Derbyshire Dales District Council is part of the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Local Authorities' Energy Partnership, which helped to produce the report and consequently it also contains an overview of the situation across both counties.
