Recycling containers and excess recycling

Dry recycling

Dry recycling is the material that goes in the 240 litre blue-lid bin and is collected fortnightly. If your property doesn't have wheeled bins, recyclable materials are collected in the blue box and blue bags. (See below).

Your bin / box / bag should be put out at the edge of your property by 7am on the day of collection.

Blue box and bags

Some properties use a blue box and blue bags for recycling rather than the blue-lid bin. These are only issued to properties that cannot accommodate a blue-lid bin due to their design or because our vehicle can't get to them.

The blue box is collected each fortnight, along with the blue bag.

Your blue box should be placed at the edge of your property by 7.00am on the day of collection.

Please do not mix the two types of recyclable materials in the two bags. We can't recycle the material if the two recycling bags contain mixed items.

Please do not put plastic wrapping or polystyrene in your recycling containers.

We'll take additional material if placed at the side of your recycling containers providing it is easily identified as recycling material and is suitably contained. Use transparent containers (such as stacker boxes) rather than black bags so that the content can be easily identified. Additional containers can be requested if you have extra recycling on a regular basis online request form. Large families that regularly produce lots of excess recycling can contact us to request an additional blue lidded bin if they have storage space.

Please ensure any excess card, paper, magazines etc are separated from other excess recycling, ie glass, plastics, cans, beverage cartons, aerosols and foil trays.

Large cardboard boxes should be flattened and broken down into smaller pieces no wider than 0.5m to fit the recycling compartment of our trucks.
